Hangseshwari Temple


Hangsheswari Kali temple in Banshberia, Hooghly, West Bengal. The main feature of this temple is the presence of 13 minars or Ratnas built as blooming lotus bud. The inner structure of the temple resembles human anatomy. The temple was built by Raja Nrishinghdeb Roy Mahasay, though completed by his widow wife Rani Sankari. In the same courtyard there is another temple called Ananta Basudeba Temple, which has some fabulous terracotta art curved on the walls.

Clock Tower, Hooghly Imambara
One of the famous Shiya Muslim pilgrimage situated in Hooghly, West Bengal. The building was started in the year 1841 by Haji Mohammad Mahasin & was completed in the year 1861. The two storied building consisting ranged rooms having a wide entrance of main gate flanked by two giant towers. Today it houses Hamza-e-Ilmia, Higher Religious Education Centre.
